Buy order (order screen)

The screen where you tell a brokerage what to purchase and how much. The scary-looking fields are mostly simple: which fund (chosen from your account's menu), how many dollars, and the order type — a 'market order' simply means 'execute at the current price'. For mutual funds, orders execute once daily at the closing price, so the drama is lower than it looks.

For your first $100: Your first buy order can be $100, in dollars, without watching anything tick. The walkthrough pack in the kit goes screen by screen, buttons named, no fund picked for you.
